Asus ROG gaming phone India launch confirmed for this quarter, will be costlier than ZenFone 5Z

Asus ROG gaming phone India launch confirmed for this quarter, will be costlier than ZenFone 5Z

Asus has launched the ZenFone 5Z in India on Wednesday for a starting price of Rs 29,999. Looks like the company is in no mood to stop just here. It has more plans for the future, for India. Asus, during the launch of the ZenFone 5Z confirmed that the most anticipated Asus ROG gaming phone will be coming to India soon. The company, however, didn't confirm the exact launch date of the Asus ROG phone yet, but did say that they will announce the device in the third quarter of this year. The launch information of the Asus ROG gaming phone has been confirmed by the Asus CEO Jerry Shen.
During the launch of the ZenFone 5Z, Asus CEO said that the company will be launching the gaming phone in this quarter itself. He said, "game-changing ROG phone in the third quarter of this year." "Definitely. Yes." he said when asked about the launch of the ROG phone in India. "For sure, we will launch the ROG phone here in India. I cannot tell you the exact date, but it will arrive in Q3. It is already Q3, so we have three months to do so," he said.
It is important to note that the third quarter of this year has already started with July. This means that Asus India will be launching the ROG gaming phone in the country in the next few months -- mostly in between July and September.
Commenting on bringing the gaming phone in India, Asus CEO said "the consumers here are not like the ones in the US. Indian consumers are reasonable and care about the value and the features." He further went on to say that the gaming phone will be much more expensive than the newly launched ZenFone 5Z. "Definitely, ROG will be priced higher than the Zenfone 5Z," Jerry said.
The ZenFone 5Z is launched in three versions -- 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The base version (6GB RAM/64GB storage) will be available for Rs 29,999, the top-end version (8GB RAM/256GB) will sell for Rs 36,999. The mid version (8GB RAM/128GB) will, meanwhile, be available for Rs 32,999.
The Asus ROG gaming phone comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The ROG smartphone features a 6-inch tall OLED display with Full HD+ 1080×2160 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor clocked to 2.96 GHz and paired with Adreno 630 GPU, which as Asus claims has been tuned for high-end gaming. Meaning the phone will run smoothly during gaming sessions. The Asus ROG gaming phone comes with a whopping 8GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 512GB of internal storage.
The smartphone comes with a GameCool system feature, which is mainly to cool down the device during heavy gaming sessions. GameCool system is basically a vapour-based cooling technology that significantly improves thermals with the help of a copper heat spreader and a 3D vapour chamber to transfer heat away from the processor. The phone also features something called an optional AeroActive Cooler that basically blow off air from the back panel of the phone, and hence improve heat dissipation.
