Samsung Android Go edition phone may come with 5-inch display, 16GB storage, 1GB RAM

Samsung may be working on an Android Go phone. A Geekbench listing leaked a couple of months ago revealed that the Android Go phone from Samsung will come with a model number SM-J260. A new leak now reveals some new information about the key specs that the Samsung Android Go phone is expected to sport. The name of the device is yet to be confirmed by Samsung though.
According to a report coming from Techiedrive, the upcoming Samsung Android Go phone will have a lot in similarity to the Nokia 1, the first and only Go edition phone from HMD Global. Much like the Nokia 1, the upcoming Samsung Android Go edition phone will come with 1GB RAM. On the storage front, the Android Go phone from Samsung is expected to come with 16GB of internal storage, which may be expandable via microSD card. The Nokia 1, on the other hand, packs 8GB of inbuilt storage memory, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
The new leak further reveals that the Samsung Android Go phone will be powered by the Exynos 7570 processor, which is built on 14nm FinFET process and is mostly dedicated to the entry-level smartphones. On the software front, the device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo, again, just as Nokia 1.
Compared to the Nokia 1 Android Go phone, Samsung Go-edition will be slightly bigger in size. The Samsung Android Go phone is expected to come with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, the Nokia 1, on the other hand, comes with a 4.5-inch display.
The Samsung Android Go phone is tipped to come with an 8-megapixel sensor on the rear panel, while on the front it is expected to sport a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. The specs are similar to that of the Nokia 1. The Samsung phone is expected to be backed by a 2,600mAh battery, which is said to deliver a long-lasting battery life.
The new report suggests that the upcoming Samsung Android Go-powered smartphone is being tested under three different model numbers, namely SM-J260F, SM-J260M and SM-J260G.
Samsung is yet to confirm the name of its Android Go phone. The company is also yet to confirm the launch timeline and the price of the device. The Samsung Android Go phone, just like the other Android Go edition phones, will be cheaper in price. The Nokia 1 is selling for a price tag of Rs 5,499, we can expect the Samsung phone to also cost somewhat similar. Going by the number of leaks, chances are Samsung may launch its first-ever Android Go edition phone by the end of this year or beginning of 2019.
