Huawei Watch 2 (2018) has been launched as the successor to the well-received Huawei Watch 2 and this time around, it comes with a 4G eSIM support instead of the nano-SIM which featured in the last year 4G model of the Watch 2. The smart watch lets you call, send as well as receive messages while also using 4G for apps without the need of connecting Huawei Watch 2 (2018) to a phone.
The device comes with a ceramic bezel and a crown design with a shortcut key which helps in entering the sports mode in order to make a quick selection of exercise, but you can also customize it to launch another app. Huawei Watch 2 (2018) can track eight kinds of exercise and offer real-time continuous heart rate monitoring, while the FIRSTBEAT motion algorithm coupled with an inbuilt GPS offers training plans, providing exercise guidance.
The Huawei Watch 2 (2018) will be available in a single Black color option and is priced at 1988 yuan (Rs. 20,915 approx.) for the eSIM version, 1888 yuan (Rs. 19,860 approx.) for the 4G nano SIM version and 1688 yuan (Rs. 17,750 approx.) for the standard Bluetooth version. While the Huawei Watch 2 (2018) is currently available from Vmall in China, it is also expected to debut in India considering the rising demand for smartwatches.
As for specifications, the Huawei Watch 2 (2018) sports a 1.2-inch (390×390 pixels) circular AMOLED display offering 328 ppi and protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The Watch 2 (2018) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor clocked at 1.1 GHz paired with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
The Huawei Watch 2 (2018) runs Android Wear 2.0 and supports Android 4.3+ as well as iOS 8.2+. Coming to the sensors, there is a 3-axis A + G sensor, 3-axis Compass, 3-axis Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor (PPG) and Barometer. Other features include dual microphones and speaker, water and dust resistant rating (IP68). While the Huawei Watch 2 (2018) supports 4G LTE with voice calling through eSIM, other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS+Beidou, Bluetooth 4.1 LE and NFC support.
On the other hand, the whole package is backed by a 420mAh battery with fast charging support. While the watch and phone share a single number which is similar to the Apple Watch 3 feature, The Huawei Watch 2 (2018) also comes with dual microphones for better call quality, however, you can also pair it with a Bluetooth headset to make calls.
