Jio 100Mbps broadband plan with free video, video calls will cost under Rs 1000: Report

io's broadband service-- JioFiber-- is expected to launch by the end of this year but the company has already started rolling out its plans in select cities. There was a recent report from The Hindu that said that the company has launched a 1.1TB of free data at a speed of 100mbps in select cities and now a new report suggests that company may launch a broadband plan under Rs 1000 to offer free voice and video calls.
According to a Livemint report, Jio will launch JioFiber by the end of this year and will have plans under Rs 1000 that offer free voice and video calls. A person aware of the matter told Livemint that discussions indicate that company could launch a bundled plan under Rs 1000 per month.
Jio is testing the fiber-to-home services since the year 2016 in select cities. India Today Tech had earlier reported that the company has been testing its Fiber services in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Jamnagar and Ahmadabad, Surat, and Chennai. The official rollout could take place in second half of this year.
Jio is planning to roll out its JioFiber service for both commercial and household users. The company targets a reach of 100 million television users across 30 cities in the country. The Hindu reports that Jio aims to offer multiple device connectivities through its dual-band JioFiber Home Gateway. Jio will also offer an 'extend' option with its JioFiber Home Gateway which will enable users to use broadband in every corner of the house without the need to install additional wires or hardware.
Jio is currently offering JioFiber connection at a refundable security deposit of Rs 4500. The company will install the router at your home which will also act as a set-top-box when the company launches its IPTV services. The company has laid more than 3KM of optic fiber network across the country.
It is expected that JioFiber will debut with a Jio Preview offer that will give 100GB data per month at the speed of 100mbps. Data is unlimited so it will continue to work, only at a reduced speed of 1mbps, once the limit is exhausted. Jio will also offer access to Jio services including 5GB cloud storage as part of the introductory offer
