Jio Monsoon Hungama offer will let you buy new JioPhone for just Rs 501, here are details

Reliance Industries Limited organised its 41st Annual General Meeting in Mumbai and made several big announcements like the JioGigaFiber service, JioPhone 2, new apps for all JioPhones from August 15 and Jio Monsoon Hungama offer for all feature phone users.

We have already talked about the JioFiber and JioPhone 2 launch. This is about the new Jio Monsoon Hungama offer. RIL has announced a new offer and no it is not like the other recharge plans offered by Jio.

Starting July21, Jio users can exchange their existing feature phone for a brand new JioPhone for just Rs 501. This reduces the effective entry cost of JioPhone from Rs 1500 to Rs 501.

JioPhone is the first smart feature phone from the company launched last year at its AGM 40. The phone is effectively free and comes bundled with plan that offers free calling benefits and 4G data. It can be paired with a JioPhone exclusive Rs 49 plan that offers 1GB data and unlimited voice calling befits for 28 days. There is another Rs 153 plan that offers 42GB data and unlimited calling benefits for 28 days. These plans can only be activated when the SIM is used in the JioPhone.

The Jio Monsoon Hungama offer should not be mistaken for JioPhone2. It is available only for JioPhone. The JioPhone 2 will be available for buying from August 15. JioPhone 2 is a high-end variant of JioPhone that company says is a result of its realisation that users want a horizontal screen display and a QWERTY keyboard on their JioPhones. While the company has not specified the innards of the phone, it has said that JioPhone 2 will be a dual SIM phone unlike its predecessor. It has a qwerty keypad and a horizontal screen. It has the same screen size of 2.4-inch QVGA display as in the JioPhone. The phone runs on KAI OS. The phone has a battery size of a 2000mAh. The phone come with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. On the rear panel, the JioPhone 2 sports a single sensor of 2-megapixel and on the front, the JioPhone 2 comes with a VGA sensor.
